How much do you know about the working principle of flocculants

2014-08-27 16:54:13       Has been read:

The flocculation precipitation method uses inorganic flocculants (such as aluminum sulfate) and organic anionic flocculants polyacrylammonium (PAM) to prepare an aqueous solution and add it to wastewater. This produces a compressed double layer, causing the suspended particles in the wastewater to lose stability. The colloidal particles aggregate with each other, causing the particles to grow and form flocs or alum flowers. After the floc grows to a certain volume, it separates from the aqueous phase and precipitates under the action of gravity, thereby removing a large amount of suspended solids in the wastewater and achieving the effect of water treatment. To improve the separation efficiency, coagulants can be added in appropriate amounts at appropriate times. The treated wastewater can basically meet the discharge standards in terms of color, chromium content, suspended solids content, etc., and can be discharged or used as reinjection water for artificial water injection and oil recovery.
