In recent years, due to the relatively high price of crude oil, the cost of naphtha cracking units has been relatively high. However, downstream polyolefin products have brought certain pressure to the olefin industry, putting pressure on the profits of the ethylene, propylene, and downstream polyolefin industry chains, resulting in a decrease in the operation of cracking units. As a byproduct of naphtha cracking, the production of butadiene is significantly affected. Starting from the end of 2023, there will be frequent accidents in the equipment. Starting from mid March 2024, Shenghong, Zhejiang Petrochemical, Zhongke Refining and Chemical, Shanghai Petrochemical, Satellite, Dongming and other equipment will be shut down for maintenance. It is expected that the capacity utilization rate of the domestic butadiene industry will still slightly decrease in the next three months.
